Haunted Hike at SAHC Community Farm

TIME: 6:30 PM – 8 PM

DIFFICULTY: Just 1-mile trail, with uneven terrain and a short but steep incline.

LOCATION: Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy Community Farm (SMALLER entrance) at 228 Mag Sluder Rd, Alexander, NC 28701. Look out for signs and pumpkins!

WHAT TO WEAR: Dress accordingly for the fall weather, jacket recommended. Closed-toed shoes and pants required for safety. Costumes are appreciated!

As the sun sets and the shadows grow long, our haunted trail beckons the brave to step into a world where characters from local lore come to life in the dark woods around you! Join us on a spine-tingling adventure through the moonlit Appalachian farmland and woodlands for a hike like no other!

This haunted hike is not for the faint of heart, as you’ll encounter mysterious sights and sounds. Your journey begins at dusk, guided by the dim glow of lanterns that cast flickering, ghostly shadows. The 1-mile path winds across a haunted mountaintop and through ancient trees, where you will spot mischievous characters of our Appalachian past.

Along the way, storytellers will regale you with tales of local legends and ghostly folklore, adding an extra layer of suspense to the adventure. The forest seems to come alive with their words, and you’ll wonder what might lurk just beyond the treeline.

This Halloween hike promises a memorable and enchanting experience for adults and children ages ten years and up. Be prepared to encounter the folklore deep within the Appalachian mountains, and leave with memories that will haunt your dreams!
